Adam Carter (he/him)

Young Mayors Program Lead

Adam was born and raised in Aotearoa New Zealand and has been living, working, and creating on Wurundjeri Land in Melbourne since 2018. As the Young Mayors Program Lead, he collaborates with local governments, community organizations, and young leaders to strengthen civic engagement and empower communities in decision-making.

Adam has a rich background in community development, participatory art, and stakeholder engagement, shaped by his three years with United Painting (Favela Painting). There, he helped transform neighborhoods through large-scale, community-led art projects that brought people together to reimagine and revitalize public spaces. This experience, combined with roles at headspace, Deakin University, and community art collectives, reflects his commitment to fostering connection and creating spaces where people and ideas can thrive.
